Christian Dating

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-16

As Christians we are called to be in relationships that are God-honoring. In a secular world this is often a challenge that many of us struggle with. Many times we turn to online dating or trying to find someone within our church. When these options fail we often become frustrated and tempted by those who are pursuing us that may not share our faith.

When Christ calls us to be “yoked” only with those who also believe in him we are to follow this and wait on his timing. This is a command from him and not a suggestion. It can be hard at times to make it through the “waiting period” and trust that God has a plan for our lives. It can be a struggle to realize that there is a purpose in every season. We are to always be seeking Christ to make sure we are following his plan and not trying to forge our own path. I encourage you to seek out his will for you in whatever stage of life you are in and know that he has a purpose for you each and every day.
